Byron's
Unbound Works

Page 8

This work is nothing more than an experiment. I've been struggling with the desire to create a new painting but frozen in my insane need for perfection. I have lots of images in my mind but when I finally get them on paper, they almost never look like I want them too.

So in an attempt to get something going, I grabbed some pastel paper and started drawing. I've been wanting to do a bullfight painting since I left Portugal. When Philip and Marla were here we went through the Lajes pictures and the bullfight set. It put those images back in my mind.

Yes, I know, its kinda gross. The whole bullfight thing was fascinating and disturbing at the same time. I was hard to watch being an animal lover as I am.

Like I said, its a test. The actual painting would be more abstract with shapes and colors that define the bull without actually drawing the bull.

I know, its all bull!
