No, this isn't a scanning error; the paper is indeed gray.

This drawing was based on one from my sketchbook. I've been wanting to recreate it using color and finally took some time to do it.

I didn't want it to be just another ink on white paper drawing so I dug around my art supplies in my closet and found some gray resume paper. I found other colors too but figured this would give me a stone-like effect that I was thinking of at that time.

I like the way it turned out but I messed up on the red pattern in the background. I tried to fix it but it started to get fat and out of hand so I stopped before I completely ruined it and promised myself I'd try again.
