Byron's Drawings
Portfolio #1

I came across a drawing of similar style at a store in Anchorage Alaska. The image of the face inside a star pattern really dug into my brain. It was all I could think of when I returned to my room ready to draw some more.

I had recently learned of my father Patrick's drawing technique from my mom. I used it on this drawing. It made it come out technically correct as I always desire for my drawings. But I was having trouble with the red ink.

The ink itself was not as opaque as I desire. I had to use red acrylic paint and a brush to fill in the large areas I wanted. I even used the brush for the lips and eyes.

When I finished the drawing by adding the blue to the eyes, I sat back to look at it. Patrick had these freaky blue eyes and black hair. That combination made him look very intense all the time. That's all I can think about when I look at this piece. So that's why it's named as it is.
