Sketchbook #2

This drawing didn't start off as an Angel. It began as a simple drawing of a solemn woman. I concentrated on the hair and then added the very dark structures around her body. I then started putting more structures working outward from the body when I realized how feather like they looked.

At that point I drew the upward curving structures and then the larger structures to make wings and then spent the next few hours doodling in all the feathers with various shapes.

I have always loved this drawing. There is a sense of calmness that washes over me when I look at it. I even joke that she brings me luck whenever I display her. Now that she's on the site, she'll bring the site luck too.

I've experimented with this image and how to make numbered prints. It will be the first numbered print run I'll ever do. It won't be the last.

The run will be 100. Think that'll be enough?
