And yet another Alaska inspired drawing. This was the first "large" drawings I completed along this theme. I'm sure it won't be the last. As with the bear drawing, this was modeled (with embellishments) from a salmon box I acquired.

I was just getting used to the larger quills on my pen and the blue ink. Unlike the black, it doesn't cover the paper as completely so there's a translucent quality to it. The scan doesn't do it justice. Holding it in your hand it looks as if the blue is almost glowing. I love that ink!

Lots of little flaws all over the drawing but you should be used to me complaining about that by now. No need in pointing them out.

I have more Alaskan style drawings I want to create or recreate from examples I've seen. As far as the large drawings go, I'll stick to this style for a while.

So what of my Australia trip? Well, I have a new sketchbook that I've been putting ideas in. The art is simple but large and requires much more than pen and ink could accomplish. I'll have my new sketchbook up soon but anything Aboriginal inspired will have to wait until I crank out the paints and brushes.
